Story from Candace Tavormina

Candace’s story was an account of her mentor/educator Sue from her early nursing career. Sue was soft-spoken and her office acted as a safe haven where Candace always left feeling better than she did walking in. Sue’s influence has stuck with Candace to this day and when put in a tough position, Candace would reference Sue’s steadfast positivity of those days. This took place in a Hospital called St. Vincent. My design direction became linked to the Saint himself, and the qualities he shared with Sue. My design is a sturdy, grounded, and gleaming visual representation of Sue’s influence that has stuck with Candace for decades. Formal cues stem from St. Vincent’s time period and location (300 B.C. Spain). The medical cross takes on the position of the Catholic cross.
