This image celebrates the women who have lived relatively isolated lives, restricted to the sphere of home and family, but who find ways to influence the larger world. Chris’ grandmother used the medium of radio to reach into the homes of other women like her, sharing her interests and ideas. I pictured all those women she never met, but with whom she formed a valuable connection through the most powerful medium of the times in which she lived.
